Now that foreign interests are at work in the waters off key West, the U.S. lawmakers are getting concerned about our own rights there.
Under The Copper Moon is about the companies that are fighting for a foothold in the Straits and for claiming the over 20 billion gallons of oil that are, as some claim, in the beneath those waters that wash against the shores of the Keys.

Under the Copper Moon has Cooper tackling another missing person case: a fisherman in the Keys who stumbled on to illegal drilling in the Thousand Islands. In researching for the book, I was shocked to see so much foreign activity in the Florida Straits, close to the U.S. coast. A mammoth oil platform has appeared in the last year about 90 miles from Key West. I was fascinated by the involvement of China in the drilling project.
I am about 6,000 words into the third book in the Cooper Mystery/Crime fiction series. Cooper has recovered from his last case involving the kidnapping of a Russian girl. He hasn't made much progress in finding his son Maxie. He plans to spend more time looking for him. It's been 7 years since his son disappeared and the trail has turned cold, no bitter cold. But an old witness comes up with a new clue that may finally lead Cooper to his son.
